When you buy a home from a home franchise builders you have no way of knowing whether you are getting charged too much or if their price is the best possible price?
iPlans provides you with detailed builders plans and specifications that enable you to get prices from several builders to get the lowest possible price. This is a transparent, competitive way of ensuring you are never paying too much for your largest asset – your new home. View plan »

The iPlans Process

Select your Plan from our range of house designs.

• Consider the size of the house, its living space and how many bedrooms it has. Remember, some of our plans are available as a left or right option, and with modern or traditional roof design.
• Review some alternatives with cladding materials, like plaster or weatherboard, brick or steel cladding.
• If you don't see a design that suits your needs, contact us – we may be able to suggest alternatives or come up with a custom design for you.

Pay a $500 retainer to iPlans to secure your plan and our services.

• We will then provide the additional elevations of your selected design so you can see your home from all sides.
• We will provide you with a selection form so you can confirm your materials and selections to iPlans.

Give the team at iPlans information about your site.

• This may include legal, site survey and land stability information from a Land Information Memorandum for example. We need as much information about your site so we can complete detailed drawings and specifications.

If you wish, make modifications to your iPlan to customise your home.

• Minor modifications like changing the configuration of a window or door opening and selecting cladding materials are free.
• Add a bedroom, games room, bigger living room, no problem. We can amend your plan to suit your needs. We will charge you a small fee for these types of amendments, usually based on an hourly rate or a fixed fee. We always discuss these additional costs upfront.

We will produce high-quality, comprehensive plans and specifications for your house, based on your selected design and materials.

• These plans and specifications are your asset. You can give these to your builders for competitive pricing.
• iPlans will charge you for these plans depending on your selected design and are charged on a square metre basis – prices start from only $20 per square metre.

iPlans will lodge and administer the building consent and resource consent if necessary with your local council.

• iPlans will charge for this at our competitive hourly rates. Unfortunately, as all councils offer different fees and operate differently so we cannot offer a fixed fee for this service.
• From March 2012 all house design services must be undertaken by licensed professionals. iPlans meets and exceeds this criteria.

iPlans will be available to assist your selected builder by answering any questions they may have during the build process.

• iPlans drawings and specifications are comprehensive, so the builders questions will be limited but we are still available to assist along the way.
• iPlans will charge for this at our competitive hourly rates.
